The cdcArts Research Centre, within the Faculty of Arts at the University of Winchester, runs undergraduate programmes which teach the theory and practice of cultural intervention in community drama and media and of the production of programmes for the screen:
- BA Drama, Community Theatre and Media
- BA Screen Production, and the
- M A Theatre and Media
for Development,
which is specifically designed for graduates who seek a vocational programme to train as facilitators of cultural intervention by means of theatre and media.
The MA programme aims at vocational training of cultural activists to facilitate personal change, empowerment and social transformation through cultural action, in particular with those groups in our societies who have become disenfranchised by an increasingly hostile global village.
Contexts will vary , among many posibilities, between formal and non-formal education, urban marginalised and the rural poor, children at risk, HIV/AIDS issues, health matters. Sadly the potantial range of needful contexts for this work is vast.
